The information reporting section of this website has been designed and built to provide you with a positive weapon against antisocial behaviour and other criminal activity in your area.
No one knows your immediate area better than you, and now you have a facility which allows you to give Nottinghamshire Police valuable information about crime and antisocial behaviour that is happening in your area and affecting your life.
This is not a facility for reporting emergencies to police, requesting the police to attend an incident immediately or for asking the police to contact you. If you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police for any of those reasons, you should call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergencies. If you want to find out more information about local policing in your area click here.
All information you report using this site are stored safely and securely. When a report is made, your Neighbourhood Policing Team, specified police intelligence personnel and your local Neighbourhood Watch coordinators are notified that information has been reported. They can see what information you have reported and decide how to react to the information received. When the authorised personnel log in and respond to your report you are notified by email.
Why log information here?
We know that not all incidents of antisocial or suspicious behaviour are reported to the police. It may be inconvenient or (because of worries about intimidation) impossible to report an incident by telephone or by going into the Police Station. If you have internet access, this system is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for you to take the time to record as much information as you can remember regarding an incident. Simply record as much detail about the people involved, for example, what they looked like, what clothing they were wearing, any vehicles they were driving, and the circumstances you can remember. You can also go back at any time and add to your observations if you remember something later.
Even if you do not have internet access all the time, you can download a reporting form or collect some from any Police Station, write the information down and hand it in. The Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators will load the information in for you. If you would rather explain what happened and have someone else log the incident on the system, contact your local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator or pop into your nearest Police Station and staff there will load the incident into the system for you.
Once you have recorded your information, the police can access the details immediately once an officer logs into the system and at any time afterwards. The incident will be presented to any officers performing a search for crimes, incidents or any suspicious activity in your area. When you are logged into the system you are able to review any information you have recorded and be able to see if the information has been accessed or used by the police. You will also see various graphs and charts regarding incidents reported by anyone on your road/street and see a progress report regarding the number of incidents that have been investigated and/or have led to arrests and/or convictions.
To do this, simply click here, go to 'Join Here' and complete the information requested. Your information is completely confidential and will not at any point be used for marketing purposes other than to send you unmarked communications regarding Neighbourhood Watch activities. No third parties will be given access to or permission to use your details at any point. In addition, no one will contact you regarding any incident you have reported unless you expressly confirm that you would like them to do so.
Once you have completed your information, an email will be sent to your email address. Please click on the link within this email to activate your account. You then have full access to the system and can report incidents for a period of fourteen days. Within fourteen days a letter will be posted to you or hand delivered to the address you registered advising you of your permanent activation code. When you log into the system you will be asked for this activation code and once you have entered it your account will be permanently live.
